What You’ll Do:

  • Lead OBD System Development: Design, develop, and calibrate cutting-edge On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) systems for a wide range of powertrains, including internal combustion, hybrid, and electric vehicles.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Oversee system integration by working closely with engineering, testing, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless OBD performance.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Champion adherence to EPA, CARB, and global emissions standards through rigorous validation, documentation, and testing protocols.
  • Diagnose & Innovate: Conduct root cause analysis on diagnostic issues, develop innovative solutions, and implement advanced diagnostic algorithms that enhance system durability and certification readiness.
  • Drive Testing & Validation: Lead comprehensive vehicle testing under diverse environmental conditions to verify OBD functionality and performance.
  • Mentor & Train: Guide junior engineers in best practices, troubleshooting techniques, and calibration strategies, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
  • Engage Stakeholders: Interface with customers, regulatory bodies, and certification agencies to communicate compliance updates, technical insights, and project progress.
  • Project Management: Manage projects from concept to completion—ensuring milestones are met, resources are optimized, and innovation remains at the forefront.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • OBD Expertise: 2 or more years of Deep knowledge of OBD-II protocols, emissions regulations (EPA, CARB), and diagnostic algorithms.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with calibration tools such as ETAS INCA, MATLAB, Simulink, and CAN-based diagnostic systems.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage cross-functional projects in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
  • Powertrain Savvy: Familiarity with internal combustion, hybrid, and electric vehicle platforms.
  • Adaptability & Communication: Excellent problem-solving skills paired with strong verbal and written communication to articulate complex technical details to varied audiences.
