Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Fuel Economy Engineer to join our Vehicle Homologation & Compliance team. This position carries lead responsibility for coordinating fuel economy certification activities, essential to managing incremental work arising from increased product complexity. This is an exciting opportunity to work on groundbreaking projects within a dynamic and innovative company.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management: Develop and maintain comprehensive project work plans, including regular status updates to ensure seamless project execution.
Prototype Coordination: Collaborate with Ford to manage prototype vehicle and part requirements and availability.
Instrumentation Support: Facilitate communication and confirmation of vehicle instrumentation requirements.
Mileage Break-In: Coordinate with MPG to execute vehicle mileage break-in processes.
Fuel Economy Testing:
Generate test requests
Analyze test data
Coordinate vehicle updates, reflashes, and troubleshooting as needed
Provide cross-functional meeting support
Oversee catalyst bench aging
Regulatory Compliance: Compile and submit test and supporting documentation to the EPA as required.
EPA Testing Support: Assist with any EPA confirmatory testing.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, or related field).
3-5 years of experience in the automotive industry, with a focus on fuel economy testing and vehicle homologation.
In-depth understanding of industry standards and regulations (US, EU, China) regarding vehicle fuel economy and emissions testing.
Proficiency in project management and data analysis.
Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal teams and external partners.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
