Key Responsibilities:
- Work on Vehicle and Stage for Testing with a Pre identified Test Plan.
- Work to update vehicle hardware and components on vehicle for testing.
- Familiar and knowledgeable to work on all vehicle systems.
- Collect Data and interpret results.
- Familiar with Computer and ability to read and collect data.
- Ability to drive Vehicle on Test Track.
- Testing and Data Collection: Operate dynamometers to conduct performance tests on vehicles, including measuring horsepower, torque, emissions, and other relevant parameters. Collect and analyze data using specialized software and tools.
- Performance Tuning: Collaborate with automotive engineers and technicians to optimize vehicle performance based on dyno test results. Adjust parameters such as fuel mixture, ignition timing, and air-to-fuel ratios.
- Diagnostic Analysis: Interpret test data to diagnose performance issues, anomalies, and potential mechanical problems in vehicles. Provide insights and recommendations to the engineering team.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on dynamometer equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and parts replacement. Coordinate with maintenance staff for more extensive repairs.
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment during dynamometer testing. Identify and address potential safety hazards promptly.
- Test Documentation: Document test procedures, setups, and results accurately. Prepare technical reports summarizing findings and recommendations for performance improvements.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on advancements in dynamometer technology, automotive systems, and testing methodologies to enhance skills and knowledge.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Associate degree or technical diploma in automotive technology, mechanical engineering, or a related field. Certifications in dynamometer operation and maintenance are a plus.
- Proven experience as an Automotive Dynamometer Technician, demonstrating proficiency in dynamometer setup, operation, and data analysis.
- Solid understanding of automotive systems, engine mechanics, and performance tuning principles.
- Proficiency in using dynamometer software, data acquisition systems, and relevant diagnostic tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail for precise setup and testing.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret test data and diagnose performance issues.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Physical capability to operate and maintain dynamometer equipment, including lifting and moving heavy components.
- Safety-conscious mindset and a commitment to following safety protocols.
- Valid driver's license and a passion for automotive technology.
